...to the DELANO KINDRED Web Site!

The DELANO KINDRED was founded in 1991 for the purpose of exploring the ancestry and genealogy of our common ancestor, Philippe de Lanoy. Philippe was born to Jan and Marie de Lanoy around 1602 in Leiden, Holland, and was baptized there on the 6th of November, 1603. In 1621, Philippe arrived in Plimoth (now Plymouth, Massachusetts) on the ship Fortune and some time later changed his name to Philip Delano. He is the progenitor of the Delano family in America.

2021 Annual Meeting Videos

We enjoyed several presentations at the 2021 Annual Meeting and Reunion for which videos are available for members to view. You must be logged in as a member to view these videos.

  • The Duxbury Rural and Historical Society's tour of the Myles Standish Burying Grounds: This is a narrated tour by Carolyn Ravenscroft of DRHS featuring the rededication of Benoni Delano's restored and preserved grave marker, a project funded by the Delano Kindred in 2021. THIS VIDEO IS ONLY AVAILABLE UNTIL OCOBER 1, 2021, per agreement with DRHS.

  • A meeting with Governor William Bradford in 1627. Our Saturday evening dinner speaker was Governor William Bradford, presented by the excellent re-enactment staff at Plimoth Patuxet Museums. Governor Bradford frequently mentioned our ancestor, Philip Delano, in his remarks as he described what it was like to live in  Plymouth Colony back in 1627. As a special feature unique to this presentation to the Delano Kindred, Governor Bradford removed his hat at the end of his remarks and our questions and reverted to Jacob, the present-day character actor who had so ably appeared just moments before as Governor Bradford. We were then able to talk with him in the present-day to learn about him and what it was like to prepare for his role as Governor Bradford. THIS VIDEO IS ONLY AVAILABLE UNTIL OCOBER 9, 2021, per our licensing agreement with Plimoth Patuxet Museums.

Videos of Jennifer Sensigalli's presentation on "After the Mayflower", Carolyn Ravenscroft's presentations on Captain Amasa Delano and Samuel Delano's amazing logbook (restoration of which was partially funded by the Delano Kindred), and Becket Soule's "After the Mayflower" will be posted soon.
